20080126

After experiencing and witnessing constant worry over awards, rankings, evaluations, and reputation, I’ve finally come full circle in becoming conscious of the overall arrangement of all the minor intricacies involved in this organization, and all similar forms.

Upon reflection, it became apparent that it is unbecoming and even ludicrous for a fully competent individual to strain themselves over comparison, public recognition, or status. Honors, compliments, or gifts granted to an individual state nothing about any other person than the individual to whom it is being granted. We are who we are; and I will continue to stand for my principles and pursue my ambitions without regard for incidents or conditions.

We would do well to appreciate, congratulate, and encourage others for their successes, and to avoid being antithetical or resentful about their accomplishments, commendations, while separately pursuing, separately, our own endeavors. To compare or converge your own worth with that of another will surely lead to displeasure, resentment, and ultimately the failure of self-actualization. In distinguishing ourselves from one another while supporting one another, we can make life more productive and enjoyable.

There are more fruitful and far superior issues about which to be concerned, than how we compare to one another. World importance is the ultimate extension on self-importance. And, for our own benefit, we are all capable of expanding our concern beyond ourselves for the benefit of others. Motivations that truly lie in this domain are fueled not only by one’s selfish ambitions, but are supported by others, and can live far beyond one person’s existence.

Nothing will deter a person who truly lives as if the possibilities for which they stand are actualized by their way of being, and will be carried on by others who are inspired by that possibility. Opinions, comparisons, circumstances, work, or any perceived obstacle will crumble in the face of such a powerful commitment.

They don’t matter, because, I am already doing great things. I refuse to be deterred by some perception, judgment, evaluation, or otherwise irrelevant matter. I will continue, improving .
